About: Opened in April 2014 the Bankstown Library and Knowledge Centre is a gracious and considered design offering much to the local community. Shortlisted in the inaugural Public Library of the Year Awards the Library a is Bankstown City Council’s most environmentally sustainable building. By combining cutting edge sustainable design together with adaptive reuse of the site, we now have a state-of-the-art iconic building that will serve the community for many years to come. Many of the sustainability features are obvious but quite a few are hidden from view.

Directions: T3 Bankstown Line train to Bankstown Station, walk 5 min (450 m) west on North Terrace towards Fetherstone Street, walk along The Mall, then take the pedestrian path through to the library
Tour times: Guided tours will be offered at 11 am and 2 pm. Delegates are also welcome to drop in and take a self-guided tour. Library staff will be available to answer questions.
